About Us

The California Subcontractors Healthcare Construction Network (CASHCN) has one goal in mind: to help General Contractors and Owners find qualified Subcontractors to work on large-scale construction projects in the healthcare sector.

To help Subcontractors develop the specialty skills required for healthcare construction, CASHCN offers education, training, and mentoring services as well as resources for licensing, insurance, and construction bonds.

CASHCN was formed by specialty trade groups working with The Bay Area Chapter of the American Subcontractors Association to address the need for qualified tradesmen to work with Owners and General Contractors on healthcare construction.

Simplifying Healthcare Construction

Functional requirements, codes, standards, and procedures for building healthcare facilities in California have resulted in construction practices that are among the most complex and expensive in the world. In association with the California Hospital Association (CHA), the California Society for Healthcare Engineers (CSHE) and the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD), CASHCN is working to develop a set of practical recommendations that can reduce the complexity and expense of hospital construction in California.

Together with the Association of General Contractors, CASHCN is working on streamlining the prequalification process for Subcontractors, making it easier for them to work with General Contractors to improve design, quality control, and construction of hospital building projects.
